Indiana is an employment at will state. Employment at will means the employer can terminate you for any reason. There are exceptions to the employment at will doctorate.

You can't be terminated for exercising your statutory right for filing a workmen's compensation claim for being injured on the job. Another exception is when an employee refuses a direct order to commit an act that would personally make that employee either civilly or criminally liable.

Just because you've been terminated by your employer and he tells you that it's an employment at will and he has the right to do so does not mean that you cannot challenge this discharge.
