Indiana is what is known as an employment-at-will state. This means that, in general, you can legally be fired at any time, for any reason, unless you are employed by the government or you have a contract with your employer. However, that does not mean that you do not have any rights to continued employment; there are exceptions to this general rule.

In Indiana, there are two main exceptions to employment-at-will. First, you cannot be terminated for exercising a statutory right, such as workers' compensation.
